In celebration of Women's History Month, the Cultural Arts Center, the Women's and Gender Studies Program, college-wide education and social science departments, and the Office of Student Life are sponsoring a talk bu sociologist Kristen Barber on Wednesday, March 25. She will speak from 10-10:50 a.m. in Germantown (BE160); and from 1-1:50 p.m. and from 6:30-7:20 p.m. on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, in Theater 1 in the Cultural Arts Center. The title of her talk is, "Men at the March: Gender and Protest Participation in Anti-Sexual Assault Events." After the 6:30 p.m. presentation there will be a candlelight vigil in the courtyard area between CU/CF/HC, lasting approximately 45 minutes. Given the new Title IX legislation in effect, this is a very timely talk.

These events do meet the Multicultural/Diversity Training requirement for Faculty and Staff. Please consider attending yourself, and bringing a class or promoting these events with students. Certificates of attendance will be available for documentation.
