ATTENTION BANNER USERS: Important Changes Coming to Banner Password Requirements

We are upgrading our Banner environment to Oracle 11g on October 16-17, 2010. As part of this upgrade, stronger password requirements are being implemented. This change affects Banner Desktop (INB) users only and does not impact users of Banner Web (via My MC). The majority of Banner users will be required to change their password within 14 days after this upgrade. New passwords must meet the following requirements:
<ul><li>Must be at least 8 characters in length, no longer than 30 characters.
<li>Must contain 2 of the following characteristics:
<ul><li>Letters
<li>Numbers
<li>Special Characters (such as ! # $ % & *)</ul>
<li>Must not contain the username or dictionary words
<li>Passwords will automatically expire every 180 days
<li>Previous passwords cannot be reused</ul>
This change is being implemented to improve the way the College protects its most sensitive and confidential information. We understand that creating and remembering strong passwords can be challenging. To help with this transition, we've put together a step-by-step instruction guide as well as a list of websites with tips and tricks for creating and remembering strong passwords:
