#1: You definitely don't want to miss the application deadline coming up on Friday, October 15.

#2: You're excited about the totally amazing 2011 theme, The Politics of Identity: Race in 21st Century America.

#3: You want to have stimulating discussions with your colleagues in other disciplines and at other campuses.

#4: Fellows earn three alternate ESH in spring 2011 and another three ESH in fall 2011.

#5: You plan to go to the special session at the National Museum of the American Indian with Paul Chaat Smith, associate curator and author of Everything You Know About Indians is Wrong (2009), with a focus on American Indian voices as a contributive presence on the global stage.

#6: You would love the chance to get behind-the-scenes insights into exhibits and discuss them with curators.

#7: You hope to energize and inspire your students by incorporating a project that involves a Smithsonian exhibit.

#8: If you're totally honest with yourself, you sometimes miss being a student and getting time to learn, think, and reflect.

#9: You want to use your Thursday afternoons to revitalize your teaching.

#10: Did we mention that the deadline is coming up?
