Donations Needed for the Women's Studies Student Scholarship Silent Auction

As you know, the Women's Studies Program Annual Scholarship Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 9, from 8 - 9:30 a.m. in the Theatre Arts Arena on the Rockville Campus. This is a wonderful event that showcases the achievements of MC students and this year will honor Nancy Nyland, Deborah Taylor, and Deborah Stearns (I'm in great company!).

It is also a fundraiser for the Women's Studies Program student scholarship fund. As part of the fundraising efforts, we will be holding a silent auction, with all proceeds to go toward the student scholarship fund. Last year's silent auction was a huge success - we had everything from stunning stained glass and beautiful jewelry to handmade scarves and tickets to local events. Last year's silent auction raised over $1,300 for the Women's Studies Program student scholarship fund, thanks to the generous support of many members of our community. Thank you all so much!

This year, we are again requesting contributions of goods and/or services to the silent auction. Maybe you have a special hand-crafted item, or you are willing to contribute your time and services to some lucky bidder, or you have corporate contacts who would be willing to donate goods or services. If you are interested in donating goods and/or services to the silent auction, please contact me (Deborah Stearns) and let me know. All the proceeds will go toward the Women's Studies Program student scholarship fund. The value of the donation may be tax deductible and receipts from the Montgomery College Foundation are available to those who contribute.

Thank you so much for your help in this matter.

Take care,
Deborah Stearns
