Montgomery College is pleased to announce that Innovation Fund applications for proposed projects will be accepted from now until Monday, March 21, 2011. The fund, which was established by Montgomery College president Dr. DeRionne Pollard and the generosity of donors such as The Webber Family Foundation, will have $20,000 available for the FY11 awards cycle. All of the funding comes from designated donations to the Innovation Fund within the Montgomery College Foundation.

The Innovation Fund supports new and creative initiatives of Montgomery College faculty, staff, students, and administrators that enhance the education of Montgomery College students. To quote Dr. Pollard: "The Innovation Fund is about creating sustainable, systemic, intentional organizational improvements at Montgomery College. Just like a good Fortune 500 company, each project should include creating a cycle of discovery, testing, and scaling up, because a good idea should not just live with one person, one department, or even one campus. If these innovative ideas can make a difference in the lives of our students, enhance their education, and improve services, the Innovation Fund can help."

Please visit the MC Foundation page at the link below and apply now!

Please find attached an Innovation Fund proposal submission document with guidelines

The application deadline is Monday, March 21, 2011. Applications should be sent to:

Montgomery College Foundation
Attn: David Sears, Executive Director
900 Hungerford Dr.
Mannakee Bldg. - Suite 200
Rockville, MD 20850

The Montgomery College Foundation will then review the requests with the President's Executive Council for its recommendations. The Foundation will make an announcement of the Innovation Fund winners by April 15, 2011.
