The field of online learning has grown in many ways, most notably in enrollments and in the understanding of best practices. We've come a long way from just putting up courses online. The entire field has been transformed.
MC has adopted the Quality Matters (QM) Program in all of its training. If you teach online and would like to see what these quality standards are all about, the Office of Distance Education & Learning Technologies invites you to take a professional development day and sign up for the Quality Matters course Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR). It is during this course that you will learn about the current standards of good online course design, the process of a QM review, and the steps DELT has laid out at MC to have your own online course reviewed formally and recognized by Quality Matters and Montgomery College.
Attached, please see the spring training schedule.
Also, through an initiative of the Distance Education Advisory Committee, an eQuality Council has been formed at MC, with faculty representatives on each campus who would be happy to discuss QM with you. Please see any of these faculty or staff to have your questions answered about QM.
Takoma Park/Silver Spring: Glenda H. Baca, Linda Zanin, John McNally (DELT)
Rockville: Charlotte Twombly
Germantown: Dina Yagodich, Buddy Muse (DELT)
