The gift will allow four new scholarships to be offered to outstanding students with financial need during the next two academic years, starting in fall 2012.
Established in 1999, the MBI honors program provides a business honors education to Montgomery College's top business students. The program offers a challenging curriculum, experiential learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom setting and scholarship benefits. MBI students have transferred to leading U.S. four-year business schools, including the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, Cornell University, New York University, and Columbia University.
The Sandy Spring Bank gift counts toward the Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Foundation's $750,000 challenge grant to support the MBI program. The foundation's grant created a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge of up to $750,000 in gifts and pledges from additional donors to the program. The donation will be distributed over the next five years.

<p data-ccp-border-top="0px none " data-ccp-padding-top="0px">The <strong>AANHPI Book Club</strong> reads books written by Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) authors. The AANHPI experience is a living, breathing, and evolving culture that deserves its own study. We will learn, understand, and attempt to define the AANHPI experience through the reading and discussions of these books.</p>
<p>Previous selections include<em> Pachinko</em> by Min Jin Lee (FA25) and<em> My Year Abroad</em> by Chang Rae-Lee (SP26).</p>

The workshop will focus on RegisterBlast, the platform faculty will use to submit, edit, and retrieve their tests and students will use to make their testing appointments.
