Montgomery College, Student Services, has need for a full-time Director of ACES Program (Achieving Collegiate Excellence Success) #A01115, an administrative position reporting to the College wide Dean of Student Access
Salary Range: $77,542 - $132,080 annually

Job Summary:
The newly created ACES Program (Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success) is an innovative program that will be co-sponsored by Montgomery College (MC), Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), and Universities at Shady Grove. A Task Force has been working on plans for the program, which will be implemented beginning with fall 2013. The program will provide Academic Coaches in eight high schools to provide juniors and seniors an array of college readiness activities. Ninth and tenth grade students will be given ACES readiness activities as well. The academic coaching will continue through MC and onto the baccalaureate level at the Universities at Shady Grove or other Maryland institutions. The person in this position will work with both the academic and community partners, and will provide leadership and coordination of the program. This will include managing program budgets, coordinating program marketing, selection of students, developing outreach and retention strategies, and promoting the program by service on committees and by providing community awareness presentations. The director will track student progress for evaluation and program improvement; seek grant and outside funding; and supervise a staff of administrative support and academic coaches.
Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Counseling, Student Affairs, Education, or related
* Seven years of experience working in student services, including three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience or equivalent administrative experience.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with high school and college students, administrators and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Three years working with at risk students if preferred.
* Three years experience in program development and management.
* Skill in budget development and management is also preferred.
* Knowledge of and skill in computer usage, including Microsoft Office, e-mail, Student Information System (Banner), Adobe Acrobat Reader and use of the internet to complete research is desirable.

<p data-ccp-border-top="0px none " data-ccp-padding-top="0px">The <strong>AANHPI Book Club</strong> reads books written by Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) authors. The AANHPI experience is a living, breathing, and evolving culture that deserves its own study. We will learn, understand, and attempt to define the AANHPI experience through the reading and discussions of these books.</p>
<p>Previous selections include<em> Pachinko</em> by Min Jin Lee (FA25) and<em> My Year Abroad</em> by Chang Rae-Lee (SP26).</p>

The workshop will focus on RegisterBlast, the platform faculty will use to submit, edit, and retrieve their tests and students will use to make their testing appointments.
