Do well-formulated learning outcomes improve student learning? Yes!

"Writing Great Learning Outcomes," a special one-hour workshop, sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning, is intended to further develop faculty's skills in writing learning outcomes for their courses. Well written learning outcomes are clear, measurable, and participant-centered. While in this workshop we discuss student learning outcomes at the course level, it will support outcomes assessment at the discipline level and at the institutional level.

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to differentiate between learning goals, objectives, and outcomes; explain the pedagogical importance of having clear, measurable, participant-centered learning outcomes; and write clear, measurable, participant-centered learning outcomes.

This special workshop will be offered at the Rockville Campus on Monday, December 3 from 1-2 p.m. in the Technical Center room 233. Facilitated by Carol Annink and Carol Moore, instructional designers for the Center for Teaching and Learning. Registration is available through the Professional Development System.
