Two Montgomery College interior design students were awarded the NEWH Scholarship (The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality). Scholarships were awarded based on student work, need as documented by a student essay, transcripts, and letters of recommendation from a professor or adviser. Students had to have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
Jennifer Boulin is studying at Montgomery College to complete her associate's degree in interior design. She previously served in the U.S. military. She plans to transfer to Marymount University to complete a bachelor's degree in interior design.
Meshell McNair received a certificate from a technical college many years ago and worked designing kitchens and baths for various local firms and businesses. She eventually started her own kitchen and bath design business. With the economic downturn, she decided she would like to expand her expertise and business opportunities and decided to go back to school and pursue a degree in interior design from Montgomery College. She is considering transferring to Marymount University to pursue a bachelor's degree when she finishes her degree at the College.
