MC Track and Field Teams Set School Records at Millersville Metric Invitational

This past weekend, the MC men's and women's track and field teams were in the business of breaking school records at Millersville Metric Invitational, in Pennsylvania. The Raptors outscored the 2013 NJCAA Outdoor National Champions, Howard Community College, placing 8th out of 29 teams from the north east area. The Raptors also showed their strength outscoring some well-known local teams such as Bowie State University, Cheyney University, Johns Hopkins University and Lincoln University.

MC Women's Track and Field

Freshman sensation Kiana Daley set a new school record in the discus; she threw 34.77m ranking her #1 in the nation. Kiana is this week's MVP for the Montgomery College Raptors.
The MC women's 4x400 relay team, included of Zahara Sani, Khelsea Hutchinson, Aurelvys Ramos and Zeona Walker-Latney, had one thing on their minds, "qualify for nationals." During the last women's event for the day, the team did just that with a time of 4:43.81.

MC Men's Track and Field

A seasoned runner and team captain, Nieman Thompson ran 0:11.14 in the 100m, qualifying for Nationals in the 100m. Nieman is ranked 3rd in the nation in the 100m.
Thomas McIntyre ran a 4:08.88 in the 1500m, and placed 6th out of 81 other athletes. His time sets a new school record and ranks him 3rd in the nation for this event.
Denzel Washington set a mark of 6.75ft in high jump setting a new school record.
The MC men's 4x100 relay team, comprised of Charles Watts, Saheed Oyeshile, Denzel Washington and Neiman Thompson, broke a school record and qualified for the NJCAA Nationals with a time of 0:43.49.

Montgomery College has qualified for a new total of 17 national championship events going into week 3.
The Montgomery College Raptors will be traveling to Johns Hopkins next weekend 4/12/14.
