The Transfer Scholarship Coordinating Committee (TSCC) hosted the second annual Student Scholarship Celebration in June to commemorate Montgomery College transfer scholarship recipients and institutional nominees.

The event took place on June 27 in the Board of Trustees room in Mannakee. Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Sanjay Rai, Associate Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Clarice Somersall, Associate Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Carolyn Terry and Vice President and Provost of the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus Dr. Brad Stewart were in attendance and congratulated students on their achievements.

Students who attended were awarded certificates for Outstanding Scholarship and Academic Achievement, signed by Dr. Pollard and were treated to a catered lunch and cake. As each student accepted their certificate, they thanked MC faculty and staff and spoke about their experience of applying for scholarships and preparing for transfer.

The luncheon provided TSCC members the opportunity to interact with students who they've supported throughout the past year. The TSCC spreads awareness of transfer scholarships to MC students; they also provide support to students applying for scholarships. Many of the scholarship recipients were reviewed and vetted by the TSCC for Presidential nomination for competitive transfer scholarships, including:

* Georgetown Preferred
* Regents Scholarship
* Presidential Community College Scholarship at UMBC
* Minority Access to Research Careers Undergraduate Student Training in Academic Research (MARCU*) at UMBC
* Center for Women in Technology Scholarship at UMBC
* Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship at UMD
* Wilson Presidential Scholarship at the University of Baltimore

Congratulations and good luck to the following scholarship winners and presidential nominees transferring to postsecondary schools: Maria Antonella Iseas, Madonna Enwe, Johanna Amaya, Brooke Young, Joseph Winnard, Maria Iseas, Yael Tsitobay, Irina Wang, Madonna Enwe, Samuel Damesa, R.
