Eight Montgomery College nursing students in their fourth semester worked in a very special setting this summer gaining clinical experience and a lifetime of memories. Youth Haven Camp is a week-long, sleep away camp for kids ages 7 to 14 who are either living with or otherwise affected by HIV; the nursing students helped administer medication and teach campers about health issues like poison ivy, sunburn and ticks.

The camp is sponsored by the Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of the National Capital Area. To read a detailed article about the students' experiences click below.
