Thanks to all of you who attended or tuned in to the Town Hall meeting last Thursday. It was a lively gathering and I was reminded of how deeply faculty, staff, and students are engaged in making the College the best place it can be. Whether it is transportation, work space, child care, or education benefits for employees, robust opinions abound about what is best for the College. Sometimes tough decisions come down to serving the greatest number the best we can. But I take pride in holding events such as Thursday's meeting where all members of our community can participate openly. If you missed it, you can watch the event in its entirety.

One thing we can all get behind unequivocally is our basketball teams! Both the women's team and the men's team had exceptional seasons and both played in the NJCAA Regional XX tournaments yesterday. The women Raptors lost a close game to Pennsylvania's Butler County Community College, 68-65. Nevertheless, Raptors Nicole Cunningham and Hillaevi Mensah were named to the All Region XX Tournament Team!

Earlier this month, the men's team won the state's MDJUCO Tournament--the first since 1992! First-year head coach Keith Byrd, who is also an MC alum, led the team on to the Region XX Tournament yesterday, where Prince George's Community College defeated the Raptors, 79-69.

Though their seasons have come to an end, I am so proud of our basketball student-athletes, who played with distinction throughout the entire season.

I hope you can all channel some of the Raptor energy into the week ahead. Go Raptors!
