This past Wednesday, the College shared the Academic Master Plan for 2016-2021. This document reflects both MC2020 and Academic Affairs Division goals, and leads the institution forward. Many (faculty, staff, administrators, governance, etc.) participated in the development process through focus groups, steering committee and sub groups, spring forums, a four-day think tank, and feedback sessions. The student-focused Plan's First Five-Year Initiatives include: embedding student support in the classroom; offering alternative scheduling and delivery; implementing alternative and customized assessment and placement, as well as designing alternative and customized credential and guided pathways; enhancing student pathways from MCPS and to USG; and expanding global partnerships and international opportunities. Concurrent with these initiatives, the updated Academic Program Review Process will be implemented.

All of these initiatives are developed through collaboration across the College, within the business community, MCPS, and USG. We wanted to assure that the Academic Master Plan addressed the current and future needs of students and the region. The Academic Master Plan can be found on the Academics webpage at this link or in the attached pdf.
