The College now has an updated policy and procedures (P&P) document that covers how we communicate with each other and external audiences.
The MC Communications team, with input from the MC community, drafted the revisions to keep up with how we use things such as email, texting, social media, and websites. The revisions also address how we can best work with news media as well as foster consistency in how we use the Montgomery College brand identity (logo). The revised P&P, now titled "Public Information, Communications, and Marketing," 62033/62033CP, was posted for public comment last fall and was approved by the MC Board of Trustees in December. My sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to our revised P&P.
In updating the Communications P&P, we strived to tackle common questions about how we share information, always being mindful that we are a vibrant community with a lot to discuss, but also knowing that information overload is a real problem that we can all help manage. For example, we are often asked, "Can I send my email out to everyone at the College?" The answer is, "It depends," and the new procedures establish a framework for determining how to get your message to a lot of people in the best way.
Because modern technologies offer a growing list of options for how we communicate with our audiences and each other, the updated Communications P&P covers a broad range of communication channels, including:

Internet sites and online commerce

Blogs

Emails

Texts

Social media

Video

Electronic displays

Branding (Including MC's logo, signage, printed materials, presentations, wearables)

Online resources are a click away
