<b>Speak Up, Save A Life! Wednesday, April 12</b> on the Rockville Campus, in Science Center West, room 301,from 11 a.m. to -12:30pm

Three in 10 families in Maryland have been touched by someone who has died from misuse of pain-killers or from illicit use of heroin. In 2013, there were 464 heroin related overdose deaths in Maryland, greater than the number of homicides.

Join an experienced panel of professionals to discuss the risks, prevalence, and signs of opiate or heroin abuse and overdose. Specialists will present legal and practical aspects of The Good Samaritan Law. Explanations and viewpoints concerning the use of Naloxone (Narcan) will be discussed. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.

The panel of speakers includes: recovering addicts, parents who have lost children, doctors, nurses, lawyers, judges, and police officer.
