MEMORANDUM

To: Montgomery College Colleagues

From: Bruce Madariaga, Professor of Economics; Donna Schena, Associate Senior Vice President for Administrative and Fiscal Services' and
Antonio Vidal, Data Coordinator, Workforce Development & Continuing Education

Subject: Collegewide Feedback Sessions

The Blue Ribbon Taskforce on Spending for Student Success is seeking your ideas on how the College should spend our resources in ways that best serve our students. We are seeking your feedback in order to develop collegewide recommendations that specify ways to reduce or eliminate costs, generate efficiencies or generate revenues that ensure our spending promotes student success. Specifically, the taskforce seeks feedback that will promote student success through:

1. Reallocating or more efficiently employing existing funds to more effectively serve students.
2. Achieving cost savings, cost avoidance, or
3. Identifying opportunities to generate additional revenues.

To achieve this, the taskforce is looking for creative proposals that have the potential to make a large and transformative impact on College practices leading to student success.

An important responsibility of the taskforce is to oversee the process of evaluating proposals from across the College that offer or recommend ideas for increased efficiencies and smarter spending. Along with the other taskforce members, we as the taskforce co-chairs wish to inspire collegewide participation in this effort by providing the members of the College community a variety of opportunities to share ideas related to spending for student success.

To provide opportunities for the College community to share their ideas, the taskforce will hold a series of listening sessions where taskforce representatives will answer questions about our charge and will solicit your ideas. Participants will be given the opportunity to share their ideas in writing or orally during these sessions. The locations and dates/times for these sessions follow:
