Dr. Mark Alves (Dept. of AELP, Linguistics, and Communication Studies) has been the Editor-in-Chief of JSEALS (the Journal of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society) since 2015. In its tenth year, JSEALS publishes theoretical linguistics articles as well as data, notes, and book reviews on languages of greater Southeast Asia, including both national languages and many of the hundreds of minority languages. This year, JSEALS has moved from the publishing-hosting of Australian National University's Asian-Pacific Linguistics publisher to the UH Press (University of Hawaii). It's release has been announced in UH news.

Five linguistics articles have already been published in this volume, with several more forthcoming and a special publication later this year. JSEALS is an open-access, electronic publication with free article downloads.
