The Middle States Self-Study Team Needs Your Input!
Our self-study re-accreditation team has completed the first drafts of the chapters required by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. As we continue in our writing process, we need the input of the entire College community to improve these drafts and ensure that there is support for the suggestions and recommendations we may propose as a result of our research. Staff in all areas, full-time and part-time faculty, administrators, and students are encouraged to review these drafts and submit their ideas for improvement. You can participate in this review in three ways:
1. Sign up and attend a Listening Tour session.
To register, please go to MCLearns, select "schedule of classes & events," then select "pedagogy & instruction," then search for "Middle States," being sure to select the standard session in which you are interested.
Students may register by e-mailing Middlestates18@montgomerycollege.edu.
Please note that participants are expected to have read the drafts before attending the sessions; the drafts can be accessed following the bulleted steps in item two, below. Please register, rather than drop in, so that we can have the correct number of materials.
2.Submit your individual comments electronically. Visit the Montgomery College Middle States website: https://www.montgomerycollege.edu/middlestates18 and read two documents:
The Middle States Accreditation Handbook, which provides the criteria we must meet for this standard (typically 1-2 pages per standard)
The Draft Self-Study Report (as of February 27 2017) - individuals will need to log in with MC credentials and click to access the chapter or chapters in which they are interested. Each chapter has an embedded link to submit comments electronically.
3. Arrange for a special session with your department or group: e-mail Middlestates18@montgomerycollege.edu.
