Numerous African-American scholars, including guest speakers from Ohio University and Morgan State University, will be attending "Teaching, Learning and Leading: Advancing Pedagogical Solutions for Globalization in Higher Education" during the fourth faculty development conference April 21 and 22 at Morgan State University (MSU) in Baltimore, Md.

The faculty development conference, hosted by The Interlink Alliance, provides higher education instructors the opportunity to share best practices in teaching and learning, discuss research on teaching and learning processes and establish relationships with faculty from other Interlink Alliance campuses.

For more information, please visit: http://interlinkalliance2017.org/.

Conference Programs and activities will center on four tracks:
Track I: Technology and Pedagogy
Track II: Leadership in the Academy
Track III: Integrating Global Communities
Track IV: Innovative and Engaged Teaching and Learning

The conference will open with a luncheon on Friday, April 21 at 12 p.m. and a welcome address from MSU President Dr. David Wilson. Dr. Wilson has more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration and holds four academic degrees, including a B.S. in political science and an M.S. in education from Tuskegee University; an Ed.M. in educational planning and administration from Harvard University and an Ed.D. in administration, planning and social policy (also from Harvard University).

Dr. Roderick J. McDavis, President Emeritus of Ohio University and Founder/Chair of The Interlink Alliance, will serve as the breakfast keynote speaker on April 22. Dr. McDavis led Ohio University to record enrollment growth, the recognition of three Centers of Excellence by the state of Ohio and the naming of three academic colleges during his 13 years as president. Under his leadership, The Promise Lives fundraising campaign surpassed its goal, raising half a billion dollars by its conclusion.

Dr. MJ Bishop, director of the William E. Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation at the University System of Maryland (USM), will serve as keynote speaker during the luncheon portion of the conference on April 22.

The Interlink Alliance holds as its central purpose the development and preparation of African-American students to learn, live and lead in the 21st Century. The Alliance's mission is to recruit, retain and encourage talented individuals to achieve their full potential for the betterment of community and society.
