How do we talk about, teach and practice consent, especially during April's Sexual Assault Awareness month?
MC has a wonderful schedule of events - everything from song-writing to poetry/rap slam, from health masculinity to special consent events on each campus. The consent events begin with boundaries/definitions 101, followed by an all-genders dancing intermission and speed-dating experience where participants practice consent scripts with each other.
Please contact Professor Hutchins (loraine.hutchins@montgomerycollege.edu) to be a student facilitator or a faculty/staff ally to these events. Research shows that many campus assaults could be prevented by better communication and sexuality education. Help make this happen at MC. A sample definitions of consent assignment is also available.
CONSENT events:
Takoma Park/Silver Spring - April 18, 11 a.m., ST301
Rockville - April 20, 3:30 p.m., faculty dining room
