This workshop is an introduction to r-code, which is free, open source software, typically used to analyze data. We will show how it has been used in our classes, show students' work with the code, and then participants will work on labs to use the code with various datasets. Multiple disciplines, but in particular, STEM areas, will benefit from using r-code.
Friday, April 21
2 to 3 p.m.
Germantown, HT 301
Facilitators: Rachel Saidi, Elaine Jadacki and Abdirisak Mohamed
Measurable Outcomes: Participants will learn the history of r-code. They will use code to download R Software onto their own computers. They will create graphs and plots using basic code, calculate summary statistics such as mean, median and standard deviation, and they will analyze statistical datasets to calculate linear regression equations.
