April is Arab American Heritage Month. It is a time to reflect on the contributions Arab Americans have made to the U.S. and the diverse group of people who make up the nation's Middle Eastern population.
The College celebrates this occasion with a dynamic calendar of events throughout April every year. We welcome this opportunity to honor the Arab American students, staff, and faculty, and their contributions to our community. For more information about these events, please visit the program website at: http://montgomerycollege.edu/aahm
Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will present a Montgomery County Government Proclamation of April as Arab American Heritage Month at Montgomery College's Rockville Campus (TC1 36) on Tuesday, April 17 at 6 p.m.
A film Screening of "Microphone" will follow the proclamation--the film explores the underground arts scene in Alexandra. It won "Best Arabic Language Film" in the Cairo Film Festival and the Tanit d'Or (the grand prize of the Carthage Film Festival). http://www.microphone-film.com
