Upcoming Conferences Related to SoTL Now on The Hub!

An informal definition of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is the methodical implementation of new teaching techniques, the systematic observation of this implementation and the thorough recording and sharing of the findings with colleagues.

Many MC faculty members are engaged in SoTL. Through ELITE workshops, new faculty are encouraged to start this practice and current faculty are supported in their SoTL efforts.

Attending a conference, whether focused on a discipline or on college teaching and learning in general, is a great way to exchange teaching ideas and practices. Through presentations, roundtables and panels, participants have the opportunity to be informed by colleagues from the local area, from different regions of the U.S. and from other countries. As a presenter, this is the place where you share and showcase your findings of your teaching innovations and receive feedback.

We have a current list of upcoming SoTL-related conferences posted on the Hub -- a virtual space for teaching resources developed by MC faculty and instructional staff. Check out the list and see if there is one that interests you. Then whether you were a participant or a presenter, please consider submitting a brief write-up about your conference experience to share with your colleagues on the Hub!
