Adult Learner 3600 Survey - Coming to Montgomery College

On October 30th, Montgomery College (MC) will launch the Adult Learner 3600 Survey in collaboration with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL). Select individuals, and students within the MC community will receive an invitation in their MC email account.

You may be familiar with CAEL as a national thought leader in the field of adult learning, an organization that for 43 years has been helping colleges and universities to increase their effectiveness in serving adult learners. The survey will help MC understand how to focus its efforts to more effectively recruit, retain, and graduate adult learners. Consisting of two instruments that compare an institution's perceptions against its adult students' satisfaction with programs, the Adult Learner 3600 examines institutions' efforts around Outreach, Life and Career Planning, Financing, Assessment of Learning Outcomes, the Teaching-Learning Process, Student Support Systems, Technology, Transitions, Adaptivity, and Strategic Partnerships and how these efforts impact adult learners'success.

The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. Participants may at any point exit the survey and resume it at a later time.

Please note that responses are anonymous and confidential.

If you receive the invitation in your MC email account, please take the survey. Also, please encourage your adult learners (i.e., 25 or older) to take the survey.

To help achieve a desirable response rate to the survey, MC will also be hosting "survey pizza parties" at the three campuses. The parties will be from 4:30 - 6:30 pm on:

October 30, Germantown campus, SA133

November 6, Rockville campus, Room SC151 and 152

November 14, Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus, Room ST332 and ST302 and,

November 14, Rockville campus, Room SC151 and 152.

Come take the survey and stay to enjoy pizza as our "thank you" for participating.

Students who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing and eligible to win a prize. The top prize is a $500 scholarship.

Thank you for helping us continually improve!
