Your voice matters! The College community is invited and encouraged to provide comments and feedback on the following modifications that have been proposed to the College's Policies and Procedures (link at bottom of this page takes you to the policies and procedures modifications):

<u>41002CP-Equal Educational Opportunity and Non-Discrimination</u>

These procedure modifications add additional clarity and detail on the process for requesting, evaluating, and implementing accommodations for students with disabilities. A new section on "Short-Term Medical Leave" has been added to the procedures along with a detailed process for students and faculty members. A new section on "Pregnancy Disclosure" has also been added, along with new language on "Accommodations for Religious Observations." The student complaint process has also been clarified with the Director of ADA and Title IX Compliance as the key contact point for all student complaints regarding implementation of this policy and procedure.

<u>42001/42001CP-Student Code of Conduct</u>

These procedure modifications update and align the Student Code of Conduct with the "Seven Truths for a Common Student Experience." Major changes to the procedure include an expanded "Philosophy/Mission Statement" section; an expanded "Jurisdiction" section that explicitly covers both physical and online conduct; a re-written and expanded section on "Standards of Conduct" that are aligned with the core values of "integrity," "community," "social justice," "respect," and "responsibility." Finally, the "Conduct Process" section has been extensively re-written to better clarify and articulate the process for investigating and adjudicating behavioral violations, including more clarity in the hearing panel and appeals process.

<u>51005/51005CP-Field Trips</u>

This new policy emphasizes the importance and value of field trips and encourages that trips be planned in ways that maximize student learning and minimize risk. The policy requires that students be given prior notice of any required field trip and that participation be limited to authorized students, faculty, and staff. The procedure modifications build upon the existing language to provide additional clarity and details for field trip participants, instructors, and students. A new section on "Transportation and Use of Vehicles" has also been added to clarify the preferred options for transportation when planning a field trip and speak to the use of personal vehicles and liability coverage.

<u>Corporate Sponsorships</u>

This new policy and procedure authorizes the use of corporate sponsorships under certain circumstances and designates the Office of Advancement and Community Engagement to oversee the planning and execution of all corporate sponsorships. The new procedure defines the various elements involved in corporate sponsorships, defines the types of sponsorship opportunities available, and places limitations on sponsorship agreements to comply with existing College policies and procedures.

All of the above modifications will be open for public comment until <b>December 4, 2017</b>. Comments and feedback on these items can be provided by visiting the Policies and Procedures Modification page:
