Students collegewide are encouraged to apply for IMPACT MC, a service-learning leadership development program designed to help students become change agents at MC and in our surrounding communities.

Students will work in teams to engage other MC students in service, awareness, and advocacy projects related to the UN's Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

Applications for Spring 2018 are due Friday, December 8.

By participating in IMPACT MC, students will learn how to:

-Describe how their personal values relate to their educational goals
-Assess how well their decisions reflect their values and goals
-Thoughtfully make and follow through on commitments
-Implement new skills for collaborating with diverse groups
-Express disagreements with others with civility
-Describe and act on their personal philosophy of active citizenship
-Learn to plan and implement group projects effectively
-Identify opportunities for leadership and public service at Montgomery College and beyond

All IMPACT MC applicants must meet the following requirements:

-Planning to take at least 6 academic credits in Spring 2018
-Cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0 (waived for New and Transfer Students)
-Free of academic or judicial holds
-Able to attend ALL IMPACT MC Meetings, Retreats, & Conferences including Friday 12:30-2:30 p.m. meetings on the Rockville campus and the January 11-12 Onboarding Retreat

Up to 15 students will be selected for the Spring 2018 program.
