The Global Humanities Justice Fund is created as an endowment by faculty in the Global Humanities Institute to energize, motivate, and support the passion of students and faculty. Adopting a broadly humanistic and global perspective on the issues that confront our world today is important for preparing our students for a complex and intricate future, with issues, concerns and opportunities that are unprecedented. We know that in order to address the needs of our societies and communities in the future, we will need a deep understanding of the interconnectedness that is bred by globalization. The interdisciplinary work of the global humanities makes possible this deeper understanding, putting a premium on people's lives and the ways that mutual appreciation of cultural differences and similarities shape our realities.

1.Student Scholarship [Three available each year]
Scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to students who have completed the Introduction to the Global Humanities course, GHUM101, for credit. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or better may apply for this scholarship by submitting a complete form along with their transcript and an essay (250 words) describing their own interest in the area of global humanities.

2.Faculty Grant to Support Experiential Learning initiatives for Teaching the Global Humanities [Two available each year]
Global studies, and global humanities in particular, are learned best when students are able to make vital connections between the academic subject matter and the world to which it points. In recognition of the pronounced need of faculty to engage experiential learning in their Global Humanities classes, the Global Humanities Justice Fund will award a small grant of $250 to faculty members teaching Introduction to Global Humanities [GHUM101] or a course they have globalized as fellows of the Global Humanities Institute.
