It has been reported that in the United States, overdose deaths from opioids have nearly tripled in the last 15 years.In 2016, alone they have claimed more than 30,000 lives.

The Chemical Society of Washington, CSW, and the STEM ED Community Club will host the ACS Live Webinar on "Opioids - Combating Addiction with Chemistry".
Date: Tues. Feb 27
Time: 6:45 p.m.
Location: SW 301, Rockville Campus
The webinar starts at 7 p.m.The duration is 45 minutes followed by Q&A for 30 minutes.

This is a very informative and helpful webinar. The attendees will learn about addiction, treatments, and medications used to help those who suffer from addiction. The webinar will also address what chemists are doing to make prescription painkillers safer and harder to abuse.
