The Raptors women's basketball team defends their NJCAA DIII Region XX Title defeating Westmoreland County Community College 85-66 which marks the team's 20th win of the season. On February 25, the top-seeded Raptors got off to a good first quarter start taking a 22-14 lead, but Wolfpack of Westmoreland came back by capitalizing on MC errors. Westmoreland started hitting shots and capitalizing on MC errors to go on a run right before halftime. Montgomery had a tree point lead at the midway point 37-34.
MC went on a quick run to start the second half, but the Wolfpack claimed the third quarter outscoring the Raptors 21-18 to tie the ball game 55-55 heading into the final frame. It wasn't until the fourth quarter where Armonie Lomax and the Raptors took charge and got hot from the field. MC went on an 11-0 run to start the quarter, and they didn't look back. The Raptors scored 30 points in the fourth quarter to win 85-66.
Armonie Lomax finished with 25 points, and Anu Bamijoko scored 22 points to lead the Raptors in scoring. Saraphina Pierre-Louis came off the bench to score nine points while Kenydi Cross and Sarah Olsen each added eight points in the 19-point victory. Armonie Lomax was named tournament Most Valuable Player and teammates Anu Bamijoko and Seraphina Pierre-Louie named to the All-Tournament Team.
