The MC Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges is accepting nominations for chapter officers for the 2018 - 2020 term. The Executive Committee offices and duties are:

President - Serve as the presiding officer of the organization; Act as the representative of the organization to the public; Serve as liaison to the national association; Make appointments as necessary to fill vacancies in offices and on the Executive Committee; Call special Executive Committee meetings when necessary; and Appoint committees as necessary

Vice President - Assist the President; Preside at meetings in the absence of the President; Serve as Executive Committee liaison to the Program Committee; and Perform other duties as assigned

Secretary - Record and distribute the minutes for all meetings; Maintain all organizational records including a current roll of the membership; and Serve as Executive Committee liaison to the Membership Committee

Treasurer - Be responsible for the collection of membership dues; Prepare and maintain the budget, including an annual report to the membership; and Maintain proper financial records and file an annual financial report with the AAWCC Regional Director and the AAWCC Vice President for Finance

Campus Liaisons (One person each for CT, GT Campus, RV Campus, TP/SS Campus, and WD&CE) - Keep an updated membership list for their respective campus; Along with the Treasurer, verify current membership status for the annual report; Be responsible for publicity and advertising at their respective campus; Distribute membership information at campus events; Work with the Membership Committee for ongoing membership recruitment; and Work with the Program Committee to coordinate campus events.

You may nominate yourself or someone else, but you must be a paid chapter member to vote or run for office. Names should be sent to mcaawcc@montgomerycollege.edu. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 23, 2018.

All MC employees and students are welcome to join the chapter by completing the attached membership form and submitting the dues payment to Tameka Cruz, Treasurer located in SV 120 on the Rockville campus.

The purpose of the MC Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges is to:
*Encourage educational program development for women in community and technical colleges
*Support women in leadership roles
*Develop communications among women in community and technical colleges
*Promote and offer local and state workshops for women in community and technical colleges
*Disseminate information on courses, programs, and services for professional women
