Last May, MC faculty and staff, as well as student scholars, conducted important research while participating in the short term study abroad program, "Japan: Global Perspectives on Tradition and Contemporary Culture." They will be sharing their findings through Powerpoint presentations, on Thursday, October 4, 2:15 - 4:15; Room 136, Technical Center, Rockville campus.

Here are the presenters and presentation themes:

- Genevieve Carminati, Professor of English / Director of Women's and Gender Studies Program, on "Haikus of Japan"

- Henry Dowling, Student Scholar, on "Japan: A Country Shaped by History and Culture"

- Rita Kranidis, Professor of English / Director of the Global Humanities Institute, on "Program Leadership to Japan"

- Angela Lanier, Instructional Designer, on "Crafting a Tale of Japan"

- Michelle Moran, Professor of History, on "Feminism and the Legacies of World War II in Japan"

- Takiko Mori-Saunders, Professor of Sociology, on "Tradition, Modernity, and Globalization in Japan."
