The Maryland volleyball team faced their biggest challenge of the season so far as they played Northern Virginia CC for the second time this season in Monaca, Pa. The Raptors survived a five-setter after battling back from 0-2 deficit. The Raptors lost the first two sets 16-25 and 19-25 but bounced back strong with a 25-9 third set win. After a tight fourth set win 25-22, they won the match in the fifth set with a 15-10 win. This is Montgomery's first five-set match so far this season. The Team hit over a .300 percentage over three sets to pick up the win over Nova.

The Raptors picked up their 12th win of the season with a straight-set victory over Community College of Beaver County 25-5, 25-171, 25-17.

Montgomery (12-0, 3-0 MDJUCO) will face MD JUCO opponent Allegany College of Maryland Tuesday, September 25 at 6 p.m. before the Raptors host their Invitational Tournament September 29 and 30 at the Rockville Campus in the main gym.
