WHAT: Workshop - Men Who Excel in Nursing
WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 27, from noon - 1:30 p.m.
No preregistration necessary

Nursing is one of the fastest growing professions in the U.S. - and men now make up nearly 10% of the nursing workforce. According to the starting salary for registered nurses in the Washington metropolitan area is nearly $61,000.

This Thursday (9/17/18), the first of a series of workshops designed to help men excel in nursing is being held. At this workshop, participants can:

- Hear from a graduate of the Montgomery College nursing program who is now a nurse at the National Institutes of Health

- Watch and discuss two short videos about being a man in nursing

- Discuss what it takes to excel as a man in nursing

- Learn why 99% of nursing students struggle

- Learn time management and study skills

- Form study groups or pairs

- Discuss what should be the topics for future sessions.
