Prior to her retirement in October, Debra had been with Montgomery College for 21 years. She began as a student in Germantown, moving to a temp, part-time, and then full-time position, all within the Admission and Records Office.

While working full time, she also obtained her Associates Degree in Computer Applications, graduating Phi Theta Kappa. In 2004, Debra transferred to Rockville as part of her promotion to Banner Catalog Specialist and then to Student Information Systems Specialist. Highlights of her career include the creation of the online admission and graduation applications; coordinating military students with the MC European Program; recipient of an Admissions and Records Team Outstanding Service Award; an Award of Recognition for services above and beyond for the credit catalog; a Recognition Award for assisting with coordinating the SIS Group move to West Gude; several recognitions of merit; graduate of the 19th class of the Leadership Development Institute; and The BeBee Staff Distinguished Service Award. In addition, Debra served as Treasurer of Local 2380 of AFSCME Union nine years, for which she received an Outstanding Service Award.
