Due to the positive response in spring 2018, the MC Library will be continuing its pilot of extended hours for fall 2018 final exams. The Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus libraries will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday, December 3 to Thursday, December 6 and Monday, December 10 to Thursday, December 13. The library will be open on Fridays, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. as usual. Cafritz Art Library hours will not change.

Anyone wanting to enter or remain in the library after 9:30 p.m. must show their MC photo ID card to the library employees at the service desk. Those without MC ID cards will be asked to leave. Limited parts of the library spaces will be open during the extended hours. Upon request, security personnel will be available to escort users to their transportation when they leave.

Limited services will be available during the extended hours. On-site research help will end at 8:00 p.m. but students can always get help with research 24/7 through our AskUsNow librarian chat service at

Please help us spread the word and encourage your students to make use of the extra library hours!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Access Services Associate Director Brynne Norton at
