Doug Kitchener, a longtime MC employee passed away peacefully in his sleep on the night of Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Having majored in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, Doug spent the last 18 years employed as an IT specialist at Montgomery College in Rockville. He was always so helpful, especially during evening classes when there was an IT issue. Doug was always alert in the summer when MC was tearing up a parking lot or two that was about to be used for the annual All-GM Show held at Montgomery College!

He was thoroughly enjoying retirement since August 2018, when he retired from MC. Doug was so looking forward to moving to a mountainside home overlooking the rural Shenandoah Valley southwest of Winchester, VA.

Doug's many car show buddies are planning a memorial service for him. It will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at Montgomery College Rockville Campus. The service will take place in GU 222/224.

His family would appreciate remembrances in the form of donations to cancer support groups and cancer research.

In order to get a sense as to how many people will be present, if you haven't already done so, please email Professor Correll ( if you plan to attend the memorial service.
