The Women's and Gender Studies Program annual scholarship reception will be held on Thursday, March 28 in the Theatre Arts Arena on the Rockville Campus. This event showcases the achievements of MC students and honors those who support the Women's and Gender Studies Program.

It is also a fundraiser for the Women's and Gender Studies Program student scholarship fund. As part of this fundraising effort, we will be holding a silent auction, with all proceeds going to the students scholarship fund. Past items have included everything from beautiful jewelry and handwoven textiles, to original pieces of art and pottery, to tickets to local events. Over the years, this event has raised thousands of dollars for the student scholarship fund, thanks to the generous support of many members of our community. We thank you so much for your contributions!

This year, we once again are requesting contributions of goods and services to the silent auction. Perhaps you have a hand-crafted item, or you are willing to contribute your time and services to some lucky bidder, or you have corporate contacts who would be willing to donate goods or services. If you are interested in donating items to the silent auction, donation boxes are available at the following locations:

Germantown: Writing Reading, and Language Center (HS 150)
Rockville: Ackerman Learning Center (SW 109)
Takoma Park/Silver Spring: Writing, Reading, and Language Center (RC 105); Science Learning Center (SN 101)

For larger or delicate items, please contact one of the individuals below:

Michelle Moran (
Angela Lanier (
Kris Lui ( )

Again, all proceeds go to the Women's and Gender Studies Program student scholarship fund. The value of the donation may be tax deductible and receipts from the Montgomery College Foundation are available to those who contribute. If you make a contribution, please fill out a donor form and submit it with your item.

Thank you so much for your help with our fundraising efforts!
