The Department of Visual and Performing Arts invite you to the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus to view work by artist Meghan Kirkwood: #ViewsFromDAPL the fourth and final exhibition in the themed series Soapbox.

Soapbox: Historically, a soapbox doubled as an impromptu stage upon which someone could stand to deliver a speech, usually of a political or social nature. This themed exhibition series allows artists to use the highly visible Open Gallery as a Soapbox from which to present ideas and issues they feel are underrepresented in the current national conversation.

Open Gallery

Exhibition Dates: March 11 - April 26, 2019

Opening Reception: Thursday, March 28, 6 - 8 p.m.

Location: The Open Gallery is on the ground floor of The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Arts Center on the west side of the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. The arts center is located off Georgia Avenue at 930 King Street. Parking is available in the West Campus Garage, which is immediately behind the center. Additional parking is available in the East Campus Garage on Fenton Street with pedestrian access by a bridge and walking path.
