"Global Nexus: A Panel Discussion on the Intersection of International Issues and Cross-Cultural Perspectives"
Date: March 21, 2-3:15 p.m.
Location: Theatre Arts Arena, Rockville Campus, Montgomery College.

This program is made possible by a Title VI grant from the United States Department of Education, which is funding a National Resource Center of the Middle East at Georgetown University, and by support from the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown.

Today's global challenges are some of the toughest we have ever faced. Populism, authoritarianism, climate change, cyberattacks, automation, and migration due to conflict are complex issues challenging people and their governments. Educated citizen leaders need nuanced perspectives and stakeholder- driven solutions. The Georgetown panel and open discussion will touch on such trends and approaches to thinking about and acting upon these complex problems.

Among the approaches represented are diplomacy and international development, issues of gender, violence and conflict, and the complexities and richness of national identities around food production, consumption and cuisine.

Global Nexus and Georgetown University invites MC students, faculty and the public to participate in this stimulating and thought-provoking afternoon event.
