You are cordially invited to attend Montgomery College's inaugural Equity Summit on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Globe Hall and the Bioscience Education Center on the Germantown Campus. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. You have the option of joining us for the entire day or either the morning or afternoon session.

The theme of this year's summit is "From Awareness to Action". The mission of the 2019 Inaugural Equity Summit is to position Montgomery College as the premier thought leader in the areas of equity, inclusion, and diversity, to raise the level of awareness about issues of racial equity, and to provide the MC community with tools to apply and advocate in the areas of equity and inclusion to increase student success.

Over the past two years, Dr. DeRionne Pollard has led the College on a journey of discovery around radical inclusion. As an Achieving the Dream school, we are singularly focused on student equity. In order to be our best selves to deliver on student success, we all as a college community want to better understand the landscape of our student population and to educate ourselves about overcoming equity issues.

I am super excited that County Councilmember Nancy Navarro and County Executive Marc Elrich will be joining us for part of the day.

Be please sure to check the Office of Equity and Inclusion website ( to register for the summit no later than April 17, 2019.

Let me know if you have any questions ( I am looking forward to spending the day with you!
