The Maryland International Education Consortium is holding a spring conference highlighting the development of globally competent students, as well as the benefits of employing them. The goal is to share information about how institutions of higher education support students to develop intercultural communication skills and knowledge of different cultures through personal interactions and experiences abroad. Maryland's business and industry seek, and Maryland's economy benefits greatly from, a workforce with such skills.

The conference is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2019, which was declared Maryland's International Education Day by Governor Larry Hogan last year. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Montgomery College Germantown.
