What is Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour certification course that is designed to teach participants to identify someone who may be dealing with a mental health or substance abuse problem. In addition, the course covers how to respond to and assist someone who may be struggling.

Mental Health disorders are more visible in the student population than ever, so it is incredibly important to be able to provide the appropriate support. To give faculty and staff the tools to weather a crisis situation we are offering this certification on each campus and Central Services in the coming months.

Central Services- May 30
Germantown- June 6
Takoma Park/Silver Spring- June 12
Rockville- June 18

All classes will run from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided and the cost of course materials will be covered by a generous donation from the LuvU Project. Register now through MCLearns!
