A wall in the lobby of the PG building on the Germantown Campus has gotten a spring semester makeover thanks to the vision of Keith McKelphin, Health Enhancement, Exercise and Physical Education Program Coordinator, an original design by David Carter, Associate Professor of Art, and hours of hard work by seven MC students. Kerry A. Doran, Tita Fontava, Maria Muralles, Aalayah M. Phannavong, Stephanie Pineda, Brooke Rasavage, and Biruktawlt Yilma enrolled in an Individualized Art Workshop this spring knowing they would be working on a mural project in the PG building. They spent hours transforming a plain cement wall into a colorful masterpiece. They worked together at times, but mostly they worked independently as their schedules allowed, often in the evenings or over the weekends. Last week, the Health Enhancement, Exercise and Physical Education Department hosted an unveiling event and it quickly became evident that the mural beautifully captured a sense of community and a love of sport that will brighten the lobby for years to come. If you have not yet seen the mural, plan to stop by the PG building soon. Be prepared to stand in awe of the work done by our amazing students under the direction of our equally fantastic faculty!
