The Global Supervisor (TGS) is a new cohort program with a goal to develop interpersonal skills, knowledge and technical abilities aimed at improving MC's supervisory effectiveness. The focus is on deepening learning and developing competencies in intercultural relations, employee communications, business administration, and some key HR practices.

TGS seeks to raise awareness of the self, the other and the organization at large from the perspective of cultural differences as seen and experienced across national, generational, professional and gender orientations. TGS aims to introduce new supervisory perspectives, practices, tools and learning while reinforcing existing positive organizational culture values and effective supervisory practices at MC. TGS compliments the MC Management cohort program.

Classes include assigned readings, and assessments, with regular feedback given to provide reflection, and further motivation, to better prepare the participant to complete an assigned project.

Admission to the cohort requires supervisory approval and is open to all MC employees--faculty, staff, and administrators. During the academic year, the class meets for nine day-long classes. The Final Day includes Project Presentations and a graduation ceremony.

Application deadline is September 6.

For more information, contact Richard Forrest, Training and Development Coordinator, at 240-567-2267. Use MC LEARNS to apply and register. Each class is a Wednesday, 8:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
