October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

Gender-based violence is a global epidemic and no one culture is more susceptible to violence. We also know that violence manifests uniquely in each culture and needs cultural specific responses.

Lauren Pires of the Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project will be coming to the Takoma Park campus to present: "Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault in the Asian/Pacific Islander Community"

In this training, we'll talk about what domestic violence and sexual assault can look like in the Asian/Pacific Islander community and how to build culturally-specific resources for survivors. We will go over definitions of domestic violence and sexual assault, talk through resources and next steps, and empower individuals to recognize violence.

Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 1 p.m.-2 p.m.

Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus ST 301
