Japan Study Abroad Program Registration Is Open

<p>Study Abroad, the Global Humanities Institute, the Department of English, and the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice have collaborated to bring the short term study abroad program, "Globalization and Japan: Traditions and Contemporary Culture and Society" to occur May 19 - 28, 2020.</p>
<p>Registration is now open, and closes by December 19, 2019. Full registration information and details are on the Study Abroad website at www.montgomerycollege.edu/studyabroad.</p>
<p>This highly educational program includes various lectures at numerous venues and regions:</p>
<p>-Tokyo: Harajuku, Akihabara, the Meiji Shrine, Shinjuku, and Shibuya.</p>
<p>-Nihon University (Tokyo): One of Tokyo's largest private universities, it is home to the renowned Population Research Institute and other world-class institutes. Dr. Tsukada, a Nihon professor, will provide a special lecture.</p>
<p>-Kyoto: Considered the most photogenic city in the world, it contains the coexistence of modern and ancient Japan which is stunning.</p>
<p>-Nara: The ancient capital of Japan from 710 to 794, it has historic temples, and Nara's neighborhoods will be explored - an intriguing learningexperience.</p>
<p>-Miyama: This is a rural historic preservation village of traditional thatched roof houses with a restored dwelling that displays the lifestyles of the past.</p>
