Update on the Classification and Compensation System Review

Over the last few weeks, the Office of Human Resources (OHR) met with College Administrators to discuss the recommendation from Hendricks & Associates regarding the Classification and Compensation System Review. These recommendations include modifications to the salary structure, a new job evaluation system, the creation and consolidation of job classes, and the assignment of positions to job classes. The consultant recommended the assignment of some positions to higher grades and others to lower grades, and that, in general, the salaries remain unchanged.
Before we proceed with implementing the recommendations, the College needs to consider the impact of the State and County budget allocations on its FY11 Budget requests. In addition, OHR wants to ensure that employees understand the new systems. Therefore, we have developed a plan to involve all employees in this process. The attached memorandum provides more information on the study and its implementation.
Should you have any questions about the study, please contact Phill Daniels at ext 7-5351. |
