3. A new timeline has been set for the first phase of The General Education project. This will see us through to completion at the end of this spring semester! We trust you will stay informed about the proposal and the amendments that have come forth by attending the opening meeting in January where we will devote two hours to this discussion to get everyone caught up on the amendments that will be considered for this proposal.
4. MC Security is now utilizing state of the art technology for parking enforcement. This technology allows for "real time" using hand held scanners and provides information regarding the validity of parking permits and to whom it may belong. Please park with care to avoid a ticket.
5. The Student Excellence Expo (SEE) to be held at Takoma Park/Silver Spring on February 23, 2008 (snow date, March 29) will be a showcase of student excellence in all forms: credit, non-credit, honors, developmental, curricular, co-curricular, transfer, and career--among others. Students, with the support of faculty or staff mentors, can submit proposals to offer presentations, poster sessions, demonstrations, displays, or performances. There are also numerous opportunities for volunteer work with the Expo. For further information, contact John Hare at john.hare@montgomerycollege.edu or 240-567-4247.
6. The First Annual MC Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament was held over the holiday weekend at TP/SS and was a grand success. Teams from Salem, Hostos, and Tidewater C.C.'s came to Falcon Hall to join the three teams from MC in a men's basketball tournament. Hostos CC finished with a record of 3-0, Rockville and TP/SS were 2-1. Each team played quite competitively and helped to make this event truly wonderful. The tournament will be held at Rockville next year.
7. The Collegewide Winter Holiday Party will be held Thursday, December 20, 1 ? 3 p.m. in the Cafritz Arts Center. All faculty and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend. Donations of gently used/clean or new blankets and sleeping bags will be accepted and donated to Shepherd's Table in Silver Spring http://shepherdstable.org
8. Did you know that Inside MC Online is truly a "360 communications" vehicle? In other words, everyone within the College community is invited to submit articles, announcements, memos, photos, etc. and can very easily do so by clicking on the "Submit Your News" link on the Inside MC Online site? 10. The Spring Opening Meeting has been moved to Germantown. It will be held this January the 16th at 8:30 am to accommodate a rather lengthy discussion on General Education. We thought it more appropriate and that everyone might be more comfortable in Globe Hall for this activity. We will be back at TP/SS for our May meeting to close the academic year. Three faculty and staff presented, and 15 students presented their research at the conference. Presentations spanned across STEM from vaccine hesitancy, a bioinformatics dive into algae, best practices for a computer science club, and so much more. Montgomery College students earned top marks in the oral presentations. Selena Ritschel (faculty mentor Evdokia Kastanos) placed 1st with their presentation "Lysogenic properties of Bacteriophages, isolated as part of the HHMI SEA-PHAGES program in introductory biology" and Julia Mesquita Peterson (faculty mentor Kiersten Newtoff) placed 3rd with their presentation "Human activity as a predictor of nest predation in Eastern Bluebirds: A comparative study of urban campuses and woodland preserves.".</p>

<li>Register for classes by logging in to MyMC, and navigating to the Register and Pay for Classes card. Click the Register Now link.</li>
<li>From the Registration menu, click Register for Classes.</li>
<li>On the Select a Term page,<strong> choose the Summer 2026 term</strong>, then click Continue.</li>
<li>On the Register for Classes page, enter your search criteria and click Search or Advanced Search to view available classes.</li>
</ol>
<p>Tip: Once the search results appear, click the course title, which is a hyperlink that opens the course details. The pop up window displays information such as the course/section notes, instructor/meeting times, corequisites, required textbooks & materials, attributes, enrollment/waitlist and fees.</p>

<li>Add classes by selecting the sections you want. If a class is full, you may have the option to join a waitlist.</li>
<li>Review and submit your selections in the Summary area to complete registration. If there is a registration error that you do not understand, check registration error help.</li>
